Latest that I could find in links from the Church of the Nazarene homepage, 2003.

I have expressed my concern before about the disparity between the number of districts in the different US regions as to their ability to support our universities and college.

Northeastern 8 Districts with 656 churches ENC

East Central 8 Districts with 557 churches MVNU

North Central 8 Districts with 464 churches MNU

Southeastern 12 Districts with 849 churches TNU

Central 11 Districts with 715 churches ONU

South Central 10 Districts with 611 churches SNU

Southwestern 9 Districts with 522 churches PLNU

Northwest 6 Districts with 422 churches NNU

Now as a Northwesterner you can see the reason for my concern. In fact if you were to try to find a way to get from Barrow, AK to Trinidad, CO the routing services say "You can't get there from here." Should the Sacramento District be shifted from the Southwest to the Northwest, most of it is closer than Colorado. Colorado is now assigned to its third different school as it was earlier assigned to Bethany and Pasadena at different times.

These statistics are 5 years old but they do present a pattern of disparity. If I knew where to find up to date statistics I would present them. This does not include the Southwestern Latin or the Southwestern Native American Districts for I am not sure if they are assigned to either Point Loma or Southern.

You also have to take into account membership and giving. I suspect that the membership of the Northwest region is larger than that of the Eastern Region.

Of all the schools out there NNU sure isn't hurting for money. I don't think its a big concern right now.
