Dear Wanda,

A good friend from another state married a man from there and has lived in Mobile for many years. She loves it but then she has always been the southern lady with that reknown great style and charm.

One thing I know is that a vacation at the Grand on Point Clear is a wonderful treat for both body and soul and the place is absolutely breathtaking at sunset. The view from the Point is one that is etched in my memory bank!

FYI: The place where Michael got the delicious pomegranates also has the best dates one could ever find. They are Medjool Premium.

Blessings,

We toured the USS Alabama several years ago, and visited some Antebellum homes in Mobile....also went to Montgomery, Jasper, Birmingham and saw the huge Galleria shopping center, and went to Talledega where we stayed at a hotel right on the water front. We visited some friends in Gadston. We enjoyed Alabama, I have never seen a place where it rained and sun shining at the same time! And I was intrigued by the red clay!

Mobile is 70 miles from Gulfport, MS. I'm glad I'm here and not there. But....
I am always glad to be where I am and not somewhere else.
Mobile, IMHO, is not as nice as Gulfport, but most of it's businesses are intact, unlike in Gulfport. But, many are being rebuilt. Gulfport is around 90,000, Mobile is around 200,000. I think life style is about the same. Lots of churches and fast food places.
