Wait a second...I'm not saying that the guy doesn't need Christ or prayer, but look at the situation more closely. If I were in his situation, I could see myself wanting to do the same as well. What's wrong with a completely new start? Isn't that what we call people to when they decide to follow Christ?

This guy's getting out from beneath sad memories, a house, furniture, and a job. The whole "selling my life" thing is really more of a gimmick. He's getting rid of all his possessions and moving on to a different life. If he were selling his children and wife along with everything, that'd be one thing. But he's single within nothing more than possessions and a job.

I admire someone who's not tied to his worldly possessions and wants to begin again.
