Years ago a pastor friend of mine was asked to officiate at a private Sunday afternoon wedding. It was to be at the church, but only 5 or 6 people were invited for this senior adult couple's wedding.

He asked his wife to ride along with him but she protested that her hair was up in curlers. He told her he would only about there 20 minutes or so and she could just stay in the car and read her book. Reluctantly, she agreed.

He was only in the church a few minutes and came back out, "They want you to come in" he said. She refused, but he persisted, telling her there were only a few people there and they all knew she wasn't dressed for a wedding.

Just as she was about to give in, he added, "They want us to sing." She couldn't believe her ears, but he insisted that the bride wanted them to sing her favorite song. He could play it on the piano but he would need her help singing it.

She really didn't want to do it, but she knew that it would hurt the couple's feelings if she didn't come in, and somehow her husband had roped her into singing too.

So that day, she, curlers and all, sang the lady's favorite song for her wedding.

The song? "He Touched Me."
