Pastors on the Eastern Region received the following. Do you have any response to the questions?
"As you are aware, Dr. Tom Nees retired as the Director of the USA CANADA/MISSION/EVANGELISM division in February at the General Board Meeting. The G.S.s prevailed on him to continue on as a consultant but he is desiring to "really" retire at the end of August. The G.S.'s want to pursue finding a replacement for Dr. Nees. As you also know, there is a great deal of transition as re-structuring is going on in response to some of the directives from the General Assembly. We are in a definite time of transition and there is a desire to be of service to the local Church- not from a top down position but genuinely from a coming alongside perspective. As a Church we need to think strategically and effectively as we move into not only this new century but into transitioning more fully into an international Church."
"1. Going forward, what are the ways that the USC/ME Department has been of service to you that you feel should continue and what are the ways that the department could be of service to you in the future? What do you need to help you in the building of the Kingdom in this time of our history?"
"2. What kind of a leader do you think we need for this division? What skills are necessary?
And any names come to mind?"
