Matt Flagg, ENC sophomore, Chaplain and Catcher for the baseball team was admitted to Mass. General Hospital yesterday. This afternoon he was moved to ICU with a bleeding spleen and a diagnosis of Mono.

Please pray for Matt's recovery. He's a terrific kid with a bright future. Also pray for his mother Laurie. She is the talented secretary at the Malden CON, and has had a very difficult past few years. She recently lost her brother to cancer and her mother is experiencing difficulty. Yet her faith remains in our God. I know however, that she needs as much emotional healing as Matt needs physical healing.

Thank you.

Jeff

Is there an update, Jeff?

Is there an update, Jeff?

The updates have been kind of sporadic. Our normal church "updater" is Matt's mother, and she's been a bit busy as you might imagine. I did just get the following email:

"Laurie Flagg just called me from Mass Gen'l Hosp. and Matt's red blood cell count is dangerously low. They are going to do a transfusion and then will decide if they need to do surgery. Please keep this family in your prayers tonight if you are a late-nighter like me as well as in the morning. God knows what is happening and why and He is in control. Also keep Laurie and Matt's dad, Bob, in your prayers. Worrying about a sick child is serious business."

I don't know much more than that. We're all worried...:basic04

Jeff and Joy visited Matt on their way out of Boston Friday. They were headed to Vermont. Matt is not out of the woods yet, but appreciates your prayers.
