is coming to Boise this Saturday. They are opening the stadium, yes, the blue turf stadium at 5:30 AM for the start of the program at 7 AM. They expect the place to have several thousand on hand. Their magazine rated Boise second only to Austin, TX as a rabid fan base.

I actually hope that Boise State goes undefeated and blows up the BCS!

It will be interesting to see how the conferences continue to change over the next few years.

I think the BCS deserves for only two non BCS schools to go undefeated and see which BCS schools that have but one defeat are chosen to play for the national championship and then we'll see where the chips fall.

Let me tell you where the chips will fall. The chips will fall with the conferences and teams that make the money for the BCS. This is about money, not championships. I know that you are quite infatuated with Boise State. BSU is a very good team that is extremely well-coached. That means almost nothing to the BCS powers.

In the 2008-09 school year, Boise State had revenues of $29 million, but spent over $30 million. BSU is losing money in their athletic program. Oklahoma State had revenues of $56 million, but spent $76 million. You can't keep losing money each year. Oklahoma had revenues of $81 million, but also spent $81 million. Ohio State had revenues of $119 million, but also spent $119 million. Texas had revenues of $139 million, but spent just $127 million. The Longhorns made $12 million in their athletic program.

The real story is that less than 20 BCS member schools made money on their athletic programs in the 2008-09 school year. (The revenue/expense numbers have not been released for the 2009-10 school year) Do you think for one moment that the BCS is going to let Boise State & TCU play for the so-called national championship and walk away with $40 million of the BCS money when so few schools are breaking even in their athletic programs. Frankly, Dr. Franklin, the BCS conferences and member schools don't give a hoot about Boise State and TCU. They are "small potatoes" in their eyes. Idaho is the potato state and BSU is one of the smaller potatoes.:)

Dr. and Coach Poteet, there are many times toward the end of a news broadcast that I turn it off knowing that most all of the sportscast will be devoted to the BSU Broncos and I have heard enough already so I am not as infatuated as you might think. No one in Idaho thinks of them as small taters because when teams from outside the state play here the fans spend alot of money here even though it does not pump up the athletic budget. That is why the local merchants really appreciated NNU hosting the NAIA National BB tournament when they did. It probably brought more money into this valley from outside than what the Broncos have done. Sixteen and then 32 teams came in for that.

If fact I will not miss Lawerence Welk to watch the game.

I think who ever painted that field blue should be shot.

And I think the grass resents it since everyone iwho is politically correct is supposed to be emphasizing "being green."

Local report is that there are over 13 thousand in the stands at Bronco stadium for the Game Day telecast. The stadium might have been full if it weren't for the Women's 5K run fund raiser for the local Oncology facility with about 15,000+ involved there.

Odds announced are that BSU is a 17.5 point favorite.
