Video Conversion and Downloads

Our pastor wants to use some videos from a website for a study he is doing right now. I can use Real Player to download them, but is there a good software (free/paid) that will do file conversions, both from You Tube and Real Player, or will take chapters/videos from dvd's? I have tried a couple of freebies (Magic DVD Ripper, etc) but it will not do everything that I want/need. I need it for this weekend.

The worst part is actually getting to the right download page... they hide it amongst lots of ads (which is how they earn revenue)... and you have to click through a number of pages to get to the right place.

However, you can use it to convert from a number of formats into a number of formats. It should do what you want.
