This is not a novel but a true story written by the famous author. It tells the story of a man, and others, from Ada Oklahoma tried for murder and sentenced to death. This is a massively strong argument against the death penalty. It shows at best, police incompetence, legal incompetence, psychiatric incompetence. It shows the terrible conditions of death row. This is not a book for the faint hearted, its simply an awful story. I asked a friend, a former police officer from Oklahoma about the case, he had read the book, his short answers sums it up, "It makes Law Enforcement look bad". This is a must read book for any interested in death penalty debate.
