Sort of half joking, I said in another thread that we needed a video forum, where people could post links to videos that they have found that are inspiring, cute, funny or...most important to me...about animals. But one person did say they would like that too.
I do recognize that we have a lot of forums. Just thought I would make the suggestion and leave it in the hands of those with more knowledge and expertise to determine if it would work.

I say the more forums the better as long as they are used by (and fit the purpose of) the community.
You could always do it on a trial basis (say six months).

I don't necessarily qualify as one with more knowledge, but I don't especially see a need for a special forum for stuff like that. From my experience some things make great threads but don't aren't really broad enough to have their own forum.

Where are they currently being put? If they're scattered all over the place, you (the moderators) might encourage people to put them in "Good Clean Fun."
Just one suggestion...

I'm with Scott. I would think that most videos to be posted already have a place. All these animal ones could be in "Good, Clean Fun".

I agree with Scott. It seems like the longer we go on this new software, the more divided and sectioned we become. It is less and less like a gathering of friends, chatting about a variety of topics, and is becoming more like a large apartment building with different rooms for different chat topics.
However, this is just a quickly written opinion. I don't see a need for it, but if others do, I would not stand in the way of it.

I withdraw the suggestion.

Barbara, I hope I didn't say anything that would cause you to withdraw the suggestion. Others may find value in it....it's just not something I would want. Wait until the evening posters chime in on the topic. They may have a completely different take on the issue.

Maybe just some kind of notation in the subject line that it's a video clip type thing so the (probably) 1% of us still on dial-up won't get our hopes up? :basic05

I withdraw the suggestion.
don't do that.
4 said they don't see a need
2 said it might be worthwhile
Nobody has a personal investment one way or the other in this. So no one has anything to lose.
There are still plenty of others who you might want to hear from before a decision is made.

I'd be glad to have such a forum because I do not know how to operate a video machine in order to watch them and here I could if it is not illegal. Just this afternoon I tried to use one of those remote contraptions to watch the TV in the living room and could not get the channel I wanted to watch.

Well, I was going to agree that it might be a good idea. But then I recalled seeing "youtube.com" on several such postings, so that gives a clue that it's a video, & that it might just be best for us dial-ups to avoid it.
But there are some videos that don't appear to be such from the link, so I click on them, only to find that things are slowing down b/c a video is trying to load somewhere, rather than some article.
So, definitely a note---unless it's "www.youtube.com" which is very apparent---re the fact that a link is a video might be in order. ;)
As for the forums becoming compartmentalized ... guess I'd not noticed that so much, so rarely clicking on just one forum, but 99.9% of the time clicking on "New Posts" when browsing, which brings up new posts in every forum here.
