Amazing. I never read them so I don't pay much attention.

Amazing -- but troubling too. They keep sending those out so someone (s) must be responding. :basic04 :gen02

sadly they are successful.
but we can be part of the solution against
spam and these scams

if we including myself would take
a minute and submit our spam email
(or just the domains used in the email)
to spamcop.net, we can instantly become
part of what has helped put these criminals
behind bars and decrease the amount
of spam across the internet.

or hit delete and continue to be part of the problem

</end guilt trip
</off soap box

spamcop.net is a website.
what they do is described on the site as

determines the origin of unwanted email and reports it to the relevant Internet service providers. By reporting spam, you have a positive impact on the problem. Reporting unsolicited email also helps feed spam filtering systems, including, but not limited to, SpamCop's own service.

the reports either gets spammers shut down
and forced to move and or risk police actions taken against them.

I haven't used their filtering service.

Tho't it was only a website, lacking whatever would make it a mailable address. Tell us, since you suggested sending spam to them so they can do something about it, where exactly would this be sent? cops@spamcop.com, or what?

you need to signup with them (free of course) and upon
logging in there is a form where mail can be entered
or single domain names entered.
it's best to submit emails with the complete headers
but not necessary. the output is quite interesting as
are the stats they keep. that's a must see imho.
amazing information

But does it actually reduce spam?

David Molle

does it reduce spam
since 1998.
nothing is more effective. at the minimum
it keeps spammers on the run at the maximum
it helps lead to arrests and convictions.
