Mike, you will like this. Came home from Dist. Assm. today and Virginia and I enjoyed the first three tomatoes from this summer's garden, along with a couple of ears of fresh picked sweet corn and fresh green beans. Meals do not get any better than that!!!

I want some!!!! I am so hungry for tomatoes and zucchini. We do not have good soil like we did at our old house across the road. I love to make hamburgers, corn on the cob, sliced maters and green beans....my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

William, it is a great day when you eat the FIRST tomato of the season. Ours has been very slow this year; everybody in this area claim tomatoes are late this year due to too much rain. We had our first last week. Enjoy your garden.

We've also enjoyed our first tomatoes and sweet corn of the year. As others have observed, there is nothing better. (my wife would argue the tomato point) but for someone who can live on good homegrown low fat tomatoes, it's a wonderful time. We don't grow our own, but have a nice family market with fresh grown stuff on our way home from work. I will be picking up some fresh green beans soon.

Are you from NW Indiana? I pastor here in NW IN. Where is your reunion going to be held?

My mother is from Brook. Most of her family still lives in the area. The reunion is held at my aunt's UMC north of Rensselaer on 231. I am looking forward to the epicurean delights created by generations of 4Hers :fun14 Including homemade icecream. Yum!

Finally, something on which William and I are in 100% agreement!! :)

Susan, I have one family that attends my church who are from Book though they are looking for housing in DeMotte because of the gas prices.

I would think you are talking about the Brushwood UMC on 231. That is only about a 15 minute drive from my church. You will be close.
