Just push that little button that changes it over to the "trip" mode, then you won't have to look at that 66666.
Then, after driving a while, you can just switch it back to the actual mileage reading.

I was going to use the ODO excuse to
justify buying a new Avalon.

It's 26 miles across the sea and Avalon is a beautiful place to visit....

Duct tape works wonders. You could cover the odometer until you have a better number. There's still alot of mileage left in that car.
My Toyota just turned over 184,000 miles and is still going strong.
I probably should buy another one, but why ?
