Two delightful books that give opportunities for discussing over-indulgence and being true to oneself.
Or you could just read them for fun too! My daughter Bonnie checks these out of the library often.

I may have to read it just because "pink" is in the title!

I finally got "Pinkalicious" from the library & read it... how cute!! I loved all of the pink illustrations and could relate with the little girl when she turned pink and thought she looked beautiful. ;o ) My favorite line is when the doctor diagnoses the girl with "pinkititis." Is this what I have?? Thanks for the recommendation! ;o )

But, of course, Katelynn!!
Which reminds me ... did you ever happen upon the "Pinkalicious" bandana at Target that made me think of you awhile back? ;)

Gina, sadly, I did not. There is not a Target really close to our house or on any of the roads that I frequently travel for work or otherwise. But, I did have a co-worker at school give me a pair of pink flamingo earrings that she bought because they reminded her of me! Ha ha... my reputation is everywhere! ;o )
Speaking of which - our middle school is doing a magazine sales drive and the Principal has set a sales goal for the students. She has been saying that if they exceed the goal, then she and the vice-principal will both dye (not permanent) their hair green (our school color) and wear green nail polish, green clothes, etc... The kids are excited about this. THEN, on Thursday, without anything being said to me first, she got on the daily announcements and said, "breaking news - if we break our goal, Mrs. Scott has also volunteered to wear ENTIRELY green... no pink!" Ha ha ha - I could literally hear the laughter throughout the hallway. My kids were all excited about it and kept asking me throughout the day, "is that the truth?!" I think I owe my principal some kind of prank to make up for it. ;o ) I have worn pink every school day so far this year and every day last year....

Oh, dear! Guess I should've picked one up, huh? Tho't you guys were in Kansas City, so there'd be a lot of such places. Oops! :(

I know, I know! If they're going to dye their hair green, use green nail polish, you can maybe wear the green she mentioned (if you have any, that is; or borrow it, not buying just for one event), but wear some of your bright pink nail polish with that and .................
DYE YOUR HAIR PINK!! (w/the temporary stuff, of course! ;) -- 'let someone do a bit of purple in mine one time, as that's the color I like; wasn't bad at all. :basic05

I think that the deal is that I'm not supposed to wear any pink (gasp!). I agree that pink and green do look nice together, but I think my students would call that cheating. ;o ) Also, I've had pink hair once! I keep meaning to try and find some pictures of it to post on NazNet... and it wasn't the temporary stuff either. Haha - would be fun! I'll let you all know how this situation resolves.
