Confession is good for the soul. So here goes. It is morally bankrupt and border line offensive but Kid Rocks "All Summer Long" is a great tune. I can't help but sing along to it.

What are the songs that you listen to and enjoy that you hope your DS doesn't find out about?

Roland, I am a metal head by nature who also loves progressive Rock and a great deal of 70's classic rock..........I am sure I listen to some music that my DS wouldn't care to hear, lol.

I have been in a classic rock mood lately, on the way in this morning my local station played "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins, "Working man" by Rush and "Stairway to Heaven" by Zeppelin........all those tunes get me to bouncing my head around.

I'm so glad you confessed to this because I felt alone in my rocking out to it!

Isn't it the perfect song to drive with the windows down nodding along? :q)

Have any of you played "Rock Band"? I'm addicted because it's fun to play with my nephew. He's a whiz on the guitar.

The other night I sang (yes, one sings, one plays bass, guitar and drums) Boston's "More Than A Feeling." I scored 100% on the easiest level.

Scott you are my kind of guy. I'll bet if we ever got the chance to be together there would be a whole lot we would have to talk about.

Could someone maybe find someplace for us to hear it?

Thanks.

Circumspection would cause me to hesitate but I am sure if you type "All Summer Long" - Kid Rock into youtube you will find it. Warning though it involves young people having fun beside a lake and includes girls in bikinis and alcohol so if those things are things you would rather not see I suggest you just wait until you hear it on the radio.

I'm not a Kid Rock fan (nor a rock 'n roll fan for that matter) but I just LOVE "All Summer Long". It's so very nostalgic!

Catchy tune, beautiful scenery, nostalgic tone, it's got a good beat, I can dance to it. I give it a minus 10.

All that other stuff takes a back seat when I picture one of my three daughters spending their future summers in those bikinis with those guys doing that stuff.

Not judging those who enjoy it. Just tossing in what ruined it for me.

I still like the old Genesis. Not a Christian band at all, and the topic isn't so very uplifting either, but I just love that British early 70's symphonic rock. And this song is probably one of the best examples The Musical Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W35wtfcByIY)

But then again all of Selling England by the Pound was a masterpiece as well.

Oh man, here we go....

Have got most everything Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, and Zeppelin ever recorded. I can get lost in my ipod for hours with these groups.

But my 'secret sin' in music is The Doors.

There. I do feel better. Confession is good for the soul. :o

Did you ever think the DS likes it too, but feels s/he can't say so?

What's wrong with it?!!? It's a great song, but you must admit he did rely heavily on Alabama/Lynard Skinner for a major portion of it.:)

Whoa! let's back up the truck...
I just viewed the video on You Tube. Naive little me didn't get [I]that[I] kind of idea from the song just hearing it on the radio. I guess I'll stick to the AUDIO only version.

I had never watched the video till just now too. For those that don't care for watching bikini clad girls grinding on a stripper's pole (on a boat, no less...is that available from West Marine?) here is a live concert version filmed in Germany this summer:

I have no credibility at all when responding to this thread. My songs are all on the 60's channel and back in college days...Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Mystic Moods Orchestra, Ray Coniff Singers, Frank Sinatra, Tommy Edwards, Ferrante & Teischer, Ray Charles, etc., were the hot ones.

The suggested video, "All Summer Long" was a bit much for me. Just so you all know...I am personally forwarding all your responses to the appropriate DS and GS in jurisdiction.

In case Dr. Hugh Smith is lurking...I am especially fond of all the George Beverly Shea, Ethel Waters, Edward Menaldino, White Sisters, Mahalia Jackson, Bill Pearce & Dick Anthony, 16 Singing Men, Jerry Barnes, Flo Price, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Whitey Gleason, Wally & Ginger, Jack Holcomb, Keller Yorks, Speer Family, Warnie Tippit, Jim Bohi, hits of the past.

Friend,

Wes

I didn't look at the bikini video! That's not really my kind of rock and roll!
But I do love U2 and the beat.

I love this thread!! Confession is so good for the soul. I'm glad our theology says we believe in repenting.

However, I haven't watched any of those videos that you are talking about! :! :)

I got stuck watching Pavoriti, Bono and Jon Bon Avi on You Tube .....I done forgot how to spell their names! :)
