Last year I posted a review on this series and since the crash, decided it would be good to do again.

This is a series of three books that tell the story of three different Jewish children around the time of Christ's birth. The books are meant to be read aloud to your children each night of Advent. Each reading is about 20 minutes long and continues the story, usually ending in a cliffhanger for the next night. The adventures are captivating and leave your kids wanting you to read just one more chapter! Each chapter also ends with a Bible verse and a short devotional.

Book One: Jotham's Journey http://www.amazon.com/Jothams-Journey-Storybook-Arnold-Ytreeide/dp/0825441749/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1285958356&sr=8-1

Book Two: Bathlolomew's Passage http://www.amazon.com/Bartholomews-Passage-Family-Story-Advent/dp/0825441730/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_b

Book Three: Tabitha's Travels http://www.amazon.com/Tabithas-Travels-Family-Story-Advent/dp/0825441722/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_c

Ages: probably best for 9 to 15 year olds. Has some violence in it.

Author: This is the interesting part. I discovered these book and was fascinated enough to look up the author. This one sentence says it all:
Arnold Ytreeide is an author, former youth pastor, and former police officer who now teaches film and television production at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. I had no idea he was Nazarene!

My parents loved these books and would read one to us each year during advent. I remember as a kid loving Jotham's Journey the best and being excited each night to hear more of the story. I would recommend this series as well!
