My wife's computer - Windows 98 - is bugging the tar out of both of us. Even though she is not on line (I.E. or Outlook Express) a popup for Poker.com (I am NOT joking) continually appears on her monitor.

A few minutes ago I turned on her monitor (off most of the time - but computer left running) and there were 9 (NINE!) pop-ups - yet still was not on line.

We/she has the Panicware Pop-up Stopper installed/active and also yesterday I downloaded/installed Popupdestroyer from popupdestroyer.com hoping that would stop this issue.

RATZ!

Any suggestions?

Thanx

The answer is the same for just about all adware, spyware, etc. Download and install three programs:

Ad-aware
Spybot
Microsoft AntiSpyware

You can download them all at:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads31.html

Get the "personal" or free versions.

My sister had the same problem. I put Ad-Aware, Spybot and Spyware Blaster on her computer and cleared out 9 pages of spyware. Spyware Blaster is kind of a suppliment to the other spyware programs. It is different. It doesn't scan but it blocks a type of spyware that some of the other programs miss. You can look it up on Google and read about it. I resently quit using Spybot. It seems to do exactly the same thing as Ad-Aware but Spybot gives me pop-ups telling me that it has blocked spyware and those pop-ups can be annoying too.
