I am a faithful Firefox user. But when I go on my credit union's website to check my bank balances, Firefox will not let me into my account page. I disable the popup blocker before I go in, but to no avail.
Then I have to go back and use the dreaded IE to go into my bank account and it works fine. But Firefox won't work.
Any suggestions?

Yes, to your bank: run your website through http://validator.w3.org/ and adjust what needs to be adjusted.

I ran it and it showed my bank website as invalid. Do I check any of the boxes in the bottom?:basic04

There are several sites that I use that won't work with Firefox. I still use IE when I have to.

More than likely your bank site uses Active Server Pages (asp) which is proprietary to Microsoft. There for they only work with IE. You can tell most of the time by looking at the address bar. It will have a .asp at the end of the page address.

How about trying the IE Tab extension for Firefox?

Uh ... took a peek ... is this "tab" only open/vulnerable while using it (since we've heard MSIE is vulnerable to some things Firefox isn't), or would it help open up Firefox to some more threats, while it's sitting in a latent position??

This is the first I've ever heard of such a thing ... IE extension/features within Firefox??

Thanks for anymore specific info re this tab.

Thanks for the tip. I was unaware of that one.

Using the IE Tab Firefox extension is not any different than opening IE separately, so the same IE vulnerabilities would exist.

Aside from it's better security, browser tabs are my favorite FF feature.

I had previously used the IE View (http://ieview.mozdev.org/) extension, but I think I like this one better.

If you are using FF 1.5, I'd report the site as broken, by choosing Help and then Report Broken Website in the FF drop-down menu bar.

Thanks. Tho't so. But is this vulnerability only the same when that particular tab is being used to view something, or even if viewing within another FF tab, if the IE tab happens to be open??

Again, thanks.

I'd say so, since it's just running IE inside of Firefox. If IE is open in a FF tab, then the risk would be the same as if IE was running by itself.

Everyone's already aware of the security risks involved in running IE. My point is that if you prefer using Firefox and are frustrated with some sites don't work on Firefox, then why not stay in Firefox to view the pages in IE?

OK, I see ... I think. In other words, it would only be when you had the IE tab open ... it was the one something was being viewed through ... that these vulnerabilities would exist, right? Can this MSIE tab be opened/closed easily, as any other tab? i.e., it's only making Firefox vulnerable to IE risks when it's clicked on, rather than merely being open on the tab bar??

It's accessible via right-click context menu or with a toolbar button.
