After service and lunch, a handful of us gathered in the home of one our congration to evaluate and finalize plans we have for a "While You Were Out" type project we will be doing in three weeks. Looks like we will do most work in living room, dining room, and kitchen. We'll be fixing damaged walls, painting, replacing old carpet, fixing some electrical problems, etc., then rearranging some furniture and redecorating. (We might get around to a new border print in little girl's room.) Homeowner is currently a single parent mom and her house is pretty run down. She knows we are doing it but her family will be gone during the work phase and she doesn't know what our exact plans are.
Our people have really latched on to the project and are excited to encourage this mom with this project. I'm proud (not in a "carnal" way) to be part of this kind of church!

COOL! We'll see pictures of your work when completed, right, Wilson? ;)

HOW FUN!! And what a blessing to this family. Make sure you take BEFORE and AFTER pictures -- you should send them in to the REAL "While You were Out" people -- who knows!!
Have FUN. That is such a great idea.

What a wonderful idea!! This is a great 'out of the box' ministry that I hope we can get rolling here at our own church - wish I were near Kinosha to lend a hand!

What an awesome ministry. How often do you do this?
This is an idea that I just might pass around in my church and see what becomes of it.

Wilson,
I felt compelled to post some better pictures.....
Again here are before and after pictures.
Having taken part in this, I can honestly say that the work was completed only through God's grace! When I think of everything we accomplished... and the time frame it was completed.... the only way this happened was
God's will!!

Nice work ... seeing "after" from the same angle the "before" was taken is a good way to show the exact differences. ;)
