Flash Content

As I mentioned elsewhere I am unable to use the Flash Chat. I can not get any flash content on any of my browsers. IE or FF. I have downloaded macromedia on several occasions but it will not install or work. Any suggestions? I'm sure I have a setting that is prohibitting it to work for me. There are some things I have to use IE for but 90% or better do work in FF.
Can someone help me walk through the settings to make sure I have it set to accept flash media? I really would like to use the new chat.
