Speaking of food...
Over the river, and through the wood,
To Grandfather's house we go;
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow.
Over the river, and through the wood—
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose
As over the ground we go.
Over the river, and through the wood,
To have a first-rate play.
Hear the bells ring, "Ting-a-ling-ding",
Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!
Over the river, and through the wood
Trot fast, my dapple-gray!
Spring over the ground like a hunting-hound,
For this is Thanksgiving Day.

Little Moose, Alberta: November 18, 2010
Source of Global Warming Spike Found
Researchers at the world renowned Little Moose Center for Climate Change Research have found the source of a recent spike in global temperatures that has concerned scientists on 4 continents. The spike in temperatures began about a week ago and has continued since. It was reported in Antarctica that glacier melting had increased in pace and that several endangered species were now at greater risk. “We’ve been concerned about the darling little snail darter fish and the precious spotted owl for several years now,” commented chief researcher Phineas Breezy, head of research at Little Moose, “the recent spike in global warming has increased our concern for their survival.”
The source of the global warming spike was found as Breezy and his research team of crack scientists explored a little known link between cyber activity and real world weather. They discovered that increased activity on the Internet heats transmission lines which, in turn, heat the atmosphere. Users of WI-FI actually make matters worse as their activity is carried through the air between computer and wireless router.
“The source of the problem,” Breezy said, “is a thread on a website called ‘NazNet.com.’ A group of users are competing to see who will be the last to post to a particular thread.” In the thread, each user tries to post something that will be the final thing said in the thread. As the hundreds of posts are done, the transmissions lines are red hot and the climate is suffering as a result.
Breezy says that the only hope for the planet is for the competition to end immediately. “Just a person trying to get one more post in by saying something like ‘ME’ or ‘thanks’ will likely push our fragile planet past the tipping point. The NazNet users must cease this thread immediately,” he warned.
He adds, “Do it for the sake of the children.”

Yet another reason to keep NazNet and "real life" in separate compartments of your life. Here we see an example of a NazNet bicker bleeding over into "real life" issues and vice versa.
I suggest that you both abandon this thread immediately and focus on your mushrooming conflict in a face-to-face setting.
Someday you will thank me for this advice but there's no need to say anything right now. I think it's very important that you eliminate the inherently controversial nature of NazNet from your current conversation immediately.

Global Warming Spike Continues
Researchers at the world renowned Little Moose Center for Climate Change Research continue to express concern about the current spike in global temperatures and the lack of cooperation by those who are causing it, a group of users at a website called “NazNet.com.”
Chief researcher Phineas Breezy, head of research at Little Moose, commented, “These people show blatant disregard for the impact their competition is having on the ecology even though evidence of it is abundant.”
Global warming has an especially negative impact on poor defenseless woodlands creatures like the spotted owl and also increases the melting of glaciers in Antarctica, as was described in a previous news release.
“Because of geometric, climatological, and societal influences, the impact of this blatant disregard for the ethology is being first felt in places like Australia, Chili, and South Africa,” Breezy said, “by Christmas these places will likely be experiencing summer time temperatures which will continue through March or even April.”
Another evidence of the damage being done by the continuation of this thread on NazNet.com is that at this time there are virtually no ice bergs present off the coast of California or in the entire Gulf of Mexico.
“Do these people, in their desire to be the last person to post to that thread take time to consider these things?” Breezy asked, “Of course not,” he continued. “All they can think about is being last.”
Meanwhile the planet suffers.

Forget the reporters blunders. What's important here is the fear-mongering going on by the Little Moose Center for Climate Change Research. I think they should hold a conference over here in, say, January or February and see just how warm the climate is.

So do we finally have a thread where we can focus on how people say things instead of what they say? Please, someone write something about loosing their salvation over this little contest so I can pounce on one of the most common spelling errors on the internet -- it's "lose" (rhymes with "choose") not "loose" (rhymes with "caboose")

Not more than 1 second after I read this, I heard on TV "There are no chickens on the ice tonight". Ha ha ha.
Can anyone guess what program I heard it on?

Scott, it's not just the Penguins in the south that are lacking ice. Poor Santa in the north has taken up surfing in the Arctic Ocean. This is getting more serious than I thought.

News Flash! This Just In!
Billings, MT receives record snowfall!
BILLINGS - The National Weather service says a record amount of snow fell on Billings on Saturday.
Billings-based meteorologist Sean Campbell tells the Billings Gazette that a foot of snow fell on the city between midnight and 6 p.m., eclipsing the previous one-day record of 2.5 inches set in 2007.
Campbell says the storm covered most of Montana except for the northwest corner.
Red Lodge received 13 inches of snow on Saturday, and 20 inches fell a mile outside of Cooke City.
Cooke City and nearby Silver Gate also suffered power outages starting on Thursday when the storm moved in, and wintery driving conditions delayed repair crews trying to restore power on Saturday.
Flathead Electric did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press on Sunday

We all know that penguins are from the South Pole and Santa is from the North Pole. So why on earth are these penguins dressed as Santa...and more perplexing: Why are they in Korea?

How'd I know this was going to be near the very top of "new posts"? Because humans like to compete? ;)
Anyway, someone's trying to perpetuate the global warming myth here in Michigan, trying to fool us into thinking it's for real ... for instance, this morning it's about 60 degrees F, which is definitely not normal. Like it, but it sadly won't stay; it'll get into the 30-40's tomorrow, and rain Thks'giving. However, that is better than a blizzard, as it's done several years on Thanksgiving. ;)
OK, back to the regularly scheduled "who shall be last?" thread ... which, I agree, is definitely not causing global warming! Wouldn't mind if it was, actually; it was even way too cold last night ... then it was overnight that it warmed up. ;)
