Gina, I think you and I are missing the point of this thread.

On second thought, Norayr, you're probably right. No sense in wasting even more time on a frivolous competition. Best to move on to other threads and build people up or something like that... (How are you supposed to convince people to leave a competition anyhow?)

Okay, it is obvious that all of you have OCPD. You ALL need to immediately cease posting and move over to the PA thread and get some help. (They will even let you post over there as you wean yourself). So, no more posts on here. NOT A ONE! Go! Get yourself some help. No need to thank me or comment on my concern for you, just get on over there and get some help before it is too late.

Speaking of books.....I just had my name published in the "acknowledgements" section of a book on Charlie Finley (baseball -- owner of the A's). I made transcripts of the interviews that the authors did during their research for the book. It was a very interesting job. It was funny how I got the job -- one of my clients is the American College of Cardiology, and the author of the book is the husband of one of the department heads that I work with there.......he got my name from her and called me!! I get jobs in the strangest ways.

OK, carry on.......

I know everyone is too busy to Christmas stuff to answer, so don't feel pressure to respond. After all, there's more to life than NazNet. Feel free to let this thread go. Don't think any more about it. Go spend time with your family and friends, watch some TV, read a good book. Go fix yourself a nice evening snack. There's really nothing of interest here anyway. Follow Norm's example and just walk away. You'll like yourself more in the morning.

This is a public service announcement.

You had me until you mentioned Norm. Then I started getting all melancholy over Norm's protracted absence here on this thread.

So in his memory I have decided that I must maintain a solitary vigil awaiting his return. Long after everyone else has left this thread I will remain waiting for my friend.:praying:

There may be an upper limit to the responses. In computerese, it may be 32,767, but modern computers aren't limited to that, and disk space is cheap and copious. That means we may have another approximately 31,000 rsponses to go.

Or it might be 1124 if this is the LAST post! ;-)

I see that things are slowing down in this thread. It's about time. We all have better things to do. What say we just let it go and move on to enjoying this wonderful Season? Everyone walks away having had a good time and this thread enters into NazNet lore. Yeah, that's the ticket. Don't you feel better letting the burden of this thread slip off your shoulders?

A whole 18 is supposed to be the high in just a few days ... what will the windchill be then (it's now in the 20's)?

Agree here , Gina . Today was just 19 and windchill 1 and that's Fahrenheit . Not only do Fahrenheit numbers sound better than Celsius but it helps when writing to my relatives in the States .
Definite slowing here as only 11 posts since I was here last evening . Even so I only got 24 minutes being last . As the posts decrease our chances of becoming last poster increase !

I'm in the midst of the Gospels class. I am a big picture kind of person, too. So all those differences between similes, similtudes, metaphors, allegory, proverb, riddle, story parable and example parable are going straight over my head. *insert naznet's non-existant barf button* I'm giving up for the night [for the class and the internet].

No, not the number of times you've been last. The total time you've been last. If you were last for 8 minutes here and 30 minutes there, etc.

OK , if Scott wants to figure all that out , fine ! I'm not sure if he'll skew the results though . Remember he tends to be devious .Saying he's not in the competition but wanting the thread to cease after his post .
Got 19 minutes last night and there have been 21 posts since then .

Ah, but it's already been mentioned that we'd all want to congratulate the winner!

Okay Folks, I have tried and tried to warn you about OCPD. Now look at the sad case of Norm. He is so paranoid, we can't even tell him good morning anymore. At least he left and has joined a support group. Please, follow his example before you end up scarred for life. Stop posting here and save yourselves.

No you don't, we aren't falling for that line. Why just look what happened to Norm. he listened and just what did it get him? A support group! Well we don't need no support group, we are plenty happy posting here whenever we feel like it. No harm, no foul, no problem!

See y'all in the AM!

Actually, I just realized that Mark's original question was, "Who will be the last person to add to this thread?" So I'm answering, "I will be the last person to add to this thread." I win. It's over. You can all go to bed now and return tomorrow to your regularly scheduled threads.

or did someone already try this line? Sad, we are going to all start repeating ourselves. More symptoms of OCPD. I know Pastor Scott is obsessed with a big moose and global warming or something like that. Jim's obsessed with telling Norm good morning. Gina's obsessed with quoting. Glenda's obsessed with herself. Susan should be studying and Charlotte's wearing a koala as a necklace. What is happening to us?

I just finished mine. I am going to do a little reading then I'm going to bed. Tomorrow is going to be about some serious studying. I still haven't recovered from getting behind during Thanksgiving.

Aha! At long last I have done it!! Success at last!

I have kept my secret wish to take #1231, and now here it is, I have succeeded and taken the prize!

No longer do I have a need to post on this thread now that my goal is accomplished!

But I will continue to post here, if only for Norm. God willing of course!

I feel somehow accomplished. My only symptom of OCPD is that I cuddle cute animals (in a picture I've had up for months before this thread started). If cuddling with koalas is the worst symptom I'm showing, then I think I'm the real winner here. Contest closed.

That's good enough for me. Let's all stop posting right now. If you want to declare Charlotte the winner, just thank me for this post......no need to reply.

No, I think Charlotte needs more help than I first thought. We need to move her to a new thread near Norm. She is really in denial. She thinks her only symptom is her koala necklace. She is totally blind to her posting problem. Can't you move her over with your superpowers?

All the classic signs of desperation. Hmmmm, maybe we need to schedule an intervention. Scott, are you available to help here, maybe tomorrow before noon?

You can go as long as you leave John, Darcy, and Breann, find us a new trumpet player, find a new minister of outreach, find someone to fill the pulpit when I'm away, agree to keep sending your tithe, and give me at least 5 years notice.

Other than that, you're stuck.

Probably true but believe me, I have no dillusions that being a member of his congregation will win me any favors on this thread.

"I'm not competitive," he says. Sure....
