I'll be preaching Psalm 122, "as yet untitled message #1." It will involve the need to start off the year by going to the "house of the Lord" (making God the primary focus). I have a comparison to Times Square in my head, but it doesn't look good on paper yet.

We're doing "Signs of Christmas" as our Children's Musical on the 19th. I think I will introduce that theme this week... We'll be decorating the tree after the service/potluck, but I will have assembled the tree on Friday or Saturday. I'll work with the idea of Christ's return being imminent... closer today than it was yesterday. I'll connect that with the idea of signs... and waiting... and anticipation.
Are we there yet? How much longer? (15 minutes less then the last time you asked)
How many sleeps until Christmas? (One less then yesterday!)
How long until Jesus returns? (I don't know... neither does he... but it's closer than it was last year!)

We're doing two-part sermons for all of Advent, with me doing, essentially the exegetical and historical element of the Isaiah passages and then our senior pastor speaking about the more practical, pastoral elements (we're doing a then and now sort of approach). I've written my part of the sermon:
1485
It's a bit specific to our congregation with some of the references, but I think the gist comes across well.
