D.S. NEWSLETTER COLUMN

Come Join the Eastern Kentucky District on a Caribbean Charity Cruise
6-days & 5-nights, October 7-12, 2006, out of Jacksonville, FL
From $478 to $528 each person for double occupancy

Everyone is invited on a special 5-night charity cruise leaving October 7, 2006, from Jacksonville FL and sailing to Key West, then to Nassau and back aboard the Carnival cruise liner, Celebration. You’ll enjoy the vacation of a life time with other fun-loving Christians, plus for every person registered with our District, $40 will be contributed to Kentucky Infant Development Station (K.I.D.S., Inc.), a compassionate ministry sponsored by the Nazarene church in Hazard. Prices start as low as $478 up to $528 per person. These rates include cruise, meals, port charges, taxes, tips, and all meetings provided by the E. KY District. Travel insurance, transportation to Jacksonville, and other options as outlined in the brochure are extra. If enough people are interested, we may be able to arrange group travel to Jacksonville.
In addition to the entertainment and amenities provided by Carnival Cruises, we’ll be providing several meetings of a Christian nature with a special speaker and music. These meetings will be scheduled during a day or night at sea, so you won’t miss any of the other exciting ports of call options in Key West such as a bike tour, certified two-tank dive, historical trolley ride, glass-bottom boat tour, and golf course, or options in Nassau, such as the Blue Lagoon Island experience, glass-bottom boat tour, Ardastra Zoo, garden & city tour, historical highlight tour, Athol or Pearl Islands snorkeling, Cable Beach Golf Club, and/or shopping and sightseeing. More detailed brochures and registration forms are available by emailing our District cruise coordinator, Rev. Larry Parsons at TheSeeker@LarryLParsons.ws, or by calling the District office at 606-329-0105 or emailing at ekynaz@alltel.net. When requesting a brochure, please indicate if you have an interest in group travel to Jacksonville. By the way, non-Nazarenes and/or anyone not living on our District are invited, too. The more the merrier and they’ll be helping the K.I.D.S. ministry in Hazard, also. If interested in more information about K.I.D.S., please check out their website at http://www.babypantry.homestead.com/HOMEPAGE.html.
The most important thing you need to do right now is to reserve your cabin, because all cabins will be on a first-come, first-served basis. So, if you don’t want to miss out on our reserved block of discounted cabins, you’ll need to register right away and arrange your transportation to Jacksonville early. A deposit of $250 per person will hold your space, with the balance due on July 1st. Please don’t forget that October is also Pastor Appreciation Month (hint, hint…)!
Don’t delay, contact Rev. Parsons or the District office now! Happy sailing!

Our teen group did a Work and Witness trip to the Kentucky Infant Development Station (K.I.D.S., Inc.). Mark was a chaperone on the trip. It is a very worthy cause and it looks like a great cruise as well.

Kudos for Eastern KY for thinking outside the box on fundraising!
