View Full Version : P.A. - Postaholics Anonymous

Norayr Hajian

Hi. My name is Norayr, also known as Norman. I live in the Yukon and I am a recovering NazNet Postaholic.

It all started with one little quip, one wisecrack in an effort to be "The Last Person to Post" on a particular thread. But alas, one crack led to another and before long I was checking NazNet before Facebook, even before the coffee was put on in the morning. Clearly things were not going good.

I tried in vain to overcome this on my own, but every attempt failed. I knew I was in trouble and only getting worse.

And that's when I decided it was time to form Postaholics Anonymous for people like myself and everyone else who is also looking for support as they see the light and attempt to leave the "Who Will Be The Last Person to Post" thread.

But be warned. Joining Postaholics Anonymous may not be enough - not with people like Charolotte and Gina egging us on to come back. But we've left those days behind us. We will not turn back. We will not be moved. Our face is set straight ahead and there is no turning back.

Yes, we will be misunderstood. Those who continue to post on that [name of thread deleted for the sake of the weaker brother/sister] thread will think we have withdrawn because we are better then they are. We may be accused of being holy posters. But we're not. We're just recovering postaholics who need to support one another.

There is no shame in this. Many fine men and women, even Nazarene men and women have fallen victim, some even going so low as to hypocritically post preposterous fictionary news reports blaming all sorts of global tragedies on other Postaholics. But enough is enough. It's time to fight back and it's time to overcome.

You too can overcome. Don't click on the link in your email notifying you of yet another endless post on "that thread". Resist. Join us here instead where we can talk and find freedom. Freedom is beautiful. You can do it. I'll be rooting for you.

Done reading the post, and I still can't stop laughing ... couldn't even spell that word right while laughing ... had the letters all twisted up! ;)

Not sure if I'll join PA or not, Norman ... ooooo - ooooooooo- ooooooo - ooooooo - ooooooo -ooooooo -ooooo - ooooooo [just singing that song ;) ].

You see, winter's coming on ... and when hibernating one needs to find lots of inside things to do ... so that might just possibly have to include posting ... it's a way of socializing, ya know. ;)

[edited to change "be" to "include" ... after all, wouldn't want anyone to thing posting is the only thing to do inside ;)]

I don't appreciate this sick humor about something that weird people see as aberrant.

Where and when does this group meet, and can someone there sign my attendance card?

I have no idea where they meet, but I will be glad to sign your attendance card.

I'll just keep it here in my desk until someone comes to get it.

We have designated a thread here on NazNet where these poor, obsessed souls can meet for mutual encouragement for strength and comfort in failure. You'll find it at: http://www.naznet.com/community/showthread.php?2627-Who-will-be-the-last-person-to-add-to-this-thread

Unbelievable. I was going to hit "Report Post". :smilies0161:

Denial. First sure sign. Craig, let me tell you this as a brother - you need help.

Come to our side. Abandon "The Thread".

I see that OCPD is spreading. Its effects are now felt on at least three threads. This is getting serious. We should get some professional help. For now, we should all stop posting and hope that we can stop this disease from spreading any further.

Allright, I'll stop . . . tomorrow.

Oh, no, Tinker! Noooooo! What would we find at NazNet to LOL about so frequently, if not for this thread the last several days ... (wow, we got this many posts in just a few days!?).

OOOPS! I see I didn't even realize which thread I was in. This isn't "THE" thread, but the one for posters anonymous! Better get over to the right thread and soon!

Allright, I'll stop . . . tomorrow.

Maybe

Yeah, Dennis ... that's what all addicts say ... it's never "today." ;)

How about this? I'll sacrifice myself for the rest of you poor souls by staying in that thread in order to remind my relapsing friends about whatever recovery process our PA group here decides on.

Yeah, Norayr ... you think that, just because you change locations, you can change your stripes ... but let me tell you ... they go with you!

You're the same character posting here on this posters anonymous thread as you were on the "who will be last?" thread. If you post as frequently, have you really diminished your addiction? ;)

Dana likes alliteration, must be ... she's no longer Dana Grant; she's Dana Denial. ;)

Absolutely! Maybe you could splice this thread onto the end of the last post thread. Then we could get Norm back from his dreaming about a riverboat vacation in Egypt.

Jim and Scott, your willingness to sacrifice all and wait diligently for me on the "other" thread is very heart warming and indeed so very tempting to come over there and just say "hi"... but I know it just takes one post to fall off the bandwagon. Somehow I feel safer here knowing there isn't a competition.

We are here for you Norm. Don't feel any pressure to go back to the "last post" thread, as long as we know that you are safe, well and happy, that is good enough for us. Your welfare is what motivates us, along with fond memories of the camaraderie shared these long days ago.

But remember this, the mind is an incredibly complex and tricky thing to understand. It is possible that you were not addicted, but rather your mind has allowed this illusion to take hold. The present condition could be worse than the former.

You just call out our name,
And you know wherever we are,
We'll come running, oh yes we will,
To see you again,

Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall..............

Never mind, that song won't work, you don't have spring or fall up there do you? Anyway's you get the idea.

Tell you want, man, not only are we going to wait for you in that "other thread" we'll be here in this thread too. In fact, it's my intention to be so faithful that I'll be the last person to post in this thread of support for you.

What more can you ask?

I've come to the conclusion that the moderators should lock "Jim" out of the "Who will be the last to post" thread. It's for his own good. He needs it. Do it for his loved ones.

Why do I take such a stand? Well, for one thing it's part of our "Tough Love Rescue" policy at Postaholics Anonymous. Yes, we usually encourage people to come here freely and willingly because that's usually when they will respond to "the program" but every once in a while we run into a really tough case that needs tough love.

But the other reason is because I fear that Jim is really the mastermind behind that thread. Yes, someone else innocently (if not foolishly) started the thread, but notice, just notice that it was JIM who posted 6 comments in a row immediately after the first post - almost egging us on. Yes, take a look. I know you'll need to go waaaaay back to the beginning, but in the beginning JIM posted and reposted and reposted some more.... SIX TIMES.... and on his seventh post he rested. But instead of it all being "good" it created chaos. Yes, Jim needs help. Why, he's even taken to greeting me each morning with big bold colorful letters - almost trying to say, "come on Norm, I dare you to come back here..."

Now is the time for all good NazNetters to rise to the aid of their beloved poster and friend, Jim Chabot. Who is with me on this?

Bwaa haa haa!!!!!!! You will never get me! Even if I am locked out, I simply will refuse to care, ha ha! For you see that I have conquered and mastered the fear of addiction. You do realize that without fear, no addiction is possible?

This isn't addiction, this is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
