This was in the Ottawa Sun today (a free paper I get each Sunday with breakfast at McDonald's )
Comparing the price of Christmas ( 1984 vs. 2010 )

Haven't a clue how they came up with these figures but found the geese interesting - unchanged - and the swans actually cheaper ! Maids were dirt cheap ! And the ladies inflated more than the lords !

{ Don't know what happened but every time I hit submit it took out my neat columns and made it all run on . At least the x's sort of keep things where they ought to be .
