Bud Adams annouced this afternoon that Vince Young would not be returning as QB. You could hear a collective cheer in Nashville (just kidding). Sports radio says that he will probably keep Jeff Fisher as coach because it would cost them $6.5 million. Jeff has another year on his contract. The official statement said that the coaching staff was still being evaluated.

He really blew it.

I love Vince Young, but he's not a top tier QB and Jeff Fisher is an excellent coach. Also, VY was the owner's pick, not the coach's pick - that's a tough situation. I hope he buckles down with a new team and puts in the work necessary to reach his potential. Maybe Michael Vick's success will help motivate him at his next stop.

Props to teams that give coaches more opportunity than two or three years. I applaud the Titans if they keep Fisher just like the Giants have already kept Coughlin.

"I was very disappointed about the way our season ended, but that doesn't mean you blow the organization up or change coaches." - Giants owner John Mara

The Giants could have been much better than their record. Turnovers killed them.

Sadly, Young may suffer the same fate of many talented players in the NFL who fall victim to their own pride and arrogance. This is the same Vince Young that got in a fight with a fellow Titan in training camp. He was also cited for a altercation at a night club. Now he can't get along with the Jeff Fisher, the longest tenured coach in the NFL. It just doesn't look good. Sadly, guys like this descend into mediocrity and eventual irrelevance unless your name is Michael Vick and you can learn from your mistakes...in that case, Vince Young has a long way to go.

Bud Adams is no dummy. In a choice between Fisher as your coach and Young as your QB, Young has to go.
