A cleaning fluid for tile etc. DEVOURS carpet! Anyone wanna guess how I know that?!?!?!?!?:fav17 :fav17 At least we guessed right and put baking soda on it before it could eat through the cement below the carpet. I just don't know HOW we would have explained THAT hole to the landlord:basic05

Dana, You are TOO funny!!!!! I think a bucket of cleaning supplies got knocked over. Apparently the Zap! had leaked out of it's bottle into the bucket and spilled onto the carpet. I didn't show up until I heard weird sounds coming from my husband as he tried to clean up this spill. He couldn't figure out what in the bucket would make a brown foam. Uh - THAT was the carpet disolving! As soon as he said this must be an acid, I got out the baking soda. The next day when the company that makes Zap! called me back (of course this happened at night!) they said that was the right thing to do. Right now I have a crust of baking soda on the floor. I've been too chicken to see what's left of the floor. Oh well. As people have moved out the landlord has replaced the carpet, so even if it was still in ok condition it would get torn out just 'cause it's OLD! We've been here almost 19 years, who knows how old it was when we moved in!
