Island of Reunion - Mosquito Infection Epidemic Escalates

One of our L.I.N.K.S. missionary families, who are also missionaries from our Canada Central District, live on the Island of Reunion (Fr.) which is in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar, near Mauritius.

There is a mosquito infection (not malaria) happening there that is reaching epidemic proportions relative to the size of the population.

Please pray for the inhabitants (less than 800,000 people) of this Island. Please pray for our missionaries ... Jon and Mary-Lou Kroeze and their teen children Jonathan and Sarah.

Over the weekend (March 4/5, 2006), these same missionaries were buffeted by a Cyclone with winds gusting over 100 kms/hr.

Perhaps these winds were in answer to prayers to relieve the Island of Reunion of the virus-carrying mosquitos!!

The storm has died down now, though there are still some pretty good winds. Our missionaries are safe.
