A Death At The High School

Many kids in my youth group asked for Prayer last night and then this morning I got an emial that MAtt had passed away. He was not a member of myyouth group but I have spent the better part of my morning at the High School with "my kids" who are having a tough time. I will also be opening up the church after school today for those who need it. Such a tough time for all. I am not a "pastor" but just a layperson who is the youth leader. I have never had to go thru this with the kids and it is tough to know what to say. Please just keep us all in your prayers today. Matt was a sophmore and a church kid but so young. My understanding at this point is that he had Pneumonia and his system got a virus that infected his blood and he went into system failure.

I think the important thing is just knowing you are there and you care. Kids aren't always looking for advice but just someone to be there for them.
