Mid-America is in the final four of the NAIA national basketball tournament in Point Lookout, MO. They beat last years national champ (Walsh U) to get there. Mount Vernon lost in the quarter finals Lindenwood after beating the number one seed Embry-Riddle of Florida.

I went to high school with MNU coach Rocky Lamar. He was an awesome basketball player. He also played football. I have talked to him a couple times in resent years and he is a very Godly leader. As great of a coach as he is, and as much as he loves basketball, his players spiritual lives are more important than the game. MNU is lucky to have a coach like Rocky.

Hal, do you remember when then NNC played for the NAIA championship on their home floor and lost to Northern State of Aberdeen, SD? That year both the NNC men's and women's teams played for the championship and lost but a couple of years later the women's team did win the championship. NNC hosted the National NAIA tournament for about 8 years in a row. Bethany's men's team won the NAIA championship by one point in about 1981 and now Southern Nazarene's women's team has won the national championship several years in a row. I was at NNC the first time they won the opportunity to go to the NAIA national tournament in KC in 1957. The same year they won the right to go to the national tournament in baseball but the school did not have the money to send them.

Mid-America is out. Final two are Huntington and C of Ozarks.
I attend most of the NAIA games when they were in Nampa. Sorry they moved, however Branson is a great place to have them. We have been to 30 games so far. One more tomorrow night.
