We are no longer printing out a bulletin due to budget constraints and are now projecting our announcements between and before services. This is a new thing for us and I have really enjoyed it. It has given me the opportunity to be more creative with announcements as well as looking online for interesting slides that might make people think. So far, using PP for announcements has gone over well and I would recommend it even if you do have a bulletin. Once your basic backgrounds are completed, the individual slides really don't take much time.
Many of these slides were created in PP and saved as a jpeg. They are crisp and clear on the PP screen. I hope these help if you are using projected announcements. Some slides I have made myself and others, I have found online. I will continue adding to this as I have time or slides become available to me.

This isn't an announcement slide, but it is a great addition to the announcements. Look carefullly at the water.

Our youth pastor uses Barefoot Ministries materials and our kids are called Barefoot Teens.

This is all I have time for now. I'll try to come back later with some more.

Cindy,
I love your slides. I needed an NYI one last week. Oh well, they will be back from Reg. FOL and will need another slide anyway. Thanks again.

Here's some more. I get a lot of mine by searching on Google Image and using key words for what I need. As you may notice, some of them have a copyright on the bottom margin. Please leave the copyright in the photo. Many sites offer slides for sale and a few freebies.

Yes, we run our slides before the morning and evening service and during the offering but I have found that during the offering, people do not look at the slides. They basically are digging for their envelope or change. Having travelled around in other denominations in this area, I have found that they have a verbal announcement with each slide with explanation. They can be done in PowerPoint by writing a note in the note section of PowerPoint about each slide and print these notes off for the pastor or sound leader, or whoever does the announcements with the slides. I have been suggesting they do this in our church but they haven't as yet.
It does take a bit of effort to make these slides and if people don't catch them, then it is basically redundant if you have a bulletin as well.

Marilyn,
Sometimes I use just a black screen or a nice photo with a welcome message. We've not progressed beyond that, however, I think one could go a long way with creativity during that time.

They are announcement slides...like what is in the bulletin..only a slide for each individual event....maybe should have clarified what I meant by slides.
We don't use any offering slide unless it is for a specific project like "Work and Witness", etc.
