As I understand it, the Colts offer came out of the blue and took the Patriots by surprise. Adam had gone to Green Bay and come back with nothing substantial in the way of offers, and the Patriots figured he would re-sign with them. This isn't to say that the Patriots couldn't have countered. It would appear that Vinatieri's leaving is the biggest blow. And now Vanderjakt has signed with Dallas. Who does that leave... Edinger with his 75% accuracy rating?
