I have an idea for a new invention for communications.
It's a special doorbell with various capabilities.
1. It has a button we push to make the doorbell ring.
2. lf nobody is at home or if the residents don't want to answer the door - they hear a recorded message. "Sammy and Shirley are unable to answer the door right now. If you want to leave a message punch the button with the mouth on it. After the beep, you can begin your recording."
3. There is a slot in the door with a gold plate with black lettering. If you wish to deliver something you may deposit it in the slot.
4. At the bottom of the list of capabilities there is a short note. "We appreciate you dropping by. Your visit was important to us. Thank you for coming"
========================
What prompted this?
We are visiting with a family. The phone rang with nobody answering it. The answering machine picked up. Nobody was really involved in anything which have prevented lifting the receiver.
Turns out it was a message which was needed - by both parties.
Oh well. I AM an old man.
It turns out it was a message the family needed.
