I hope the ability to report abuse is active?

Unless you are making some real mischief Shea it is not you. Just look at some of our new users profiles and you will see what I mean. Or maybe we shouldn't.

sorry, should've included a :D. Based on my forum experiences thus far, it would appear that Christian sites are an excellent market for sex-related materials.

Since you brought the subject up, I had a little "crash" of my own the last few days. Noting a place that sets up "free websites," I once again entered what I tho't might be a nice name ... one that I've used *(WITH the copyright symbol)* on original X-stitch patterns/kits I've put together using them.

Well, when I entered it, it said it was already taken! What!? It hadn't been for years when I'd enter it, curiously. Thinking now I should not have ever entered it until ready to have a permanent website of my own ... b/c those places might just keep tabs of names people try/check out, and then spit them back *OUT* when someone ELSE is looking for suggestions!! Maybe would've been safe, had I not done this "checking on available names" every now & then.

Anywaaay, to finally get to the end of this already-too-long-story, someone with an X-rated site used *MY* name that I still have all over these kits/patterns!! (& even some musical stuff!) Sadly, "genuinely gina," a name I tho't up decades ago & have been using since, instead of a nice alliterative name I can use in the future on-line, has been STOLEN, it looks like to me! :( :( :(

HOW do I get it back ??? Just b/c I didn't use it on-line first doesn't mean it's not "my business name to use" ... does it???

Anyway, it saddened me ....... feel I even should put a disclaimer on what I have left to give out/sell, lest anyone associate me with that horrible site on-line! Yeah, I only saw the first page, but it was disgusting enough with shadowy profiles, a place to say folks had to be 18, etc, etc. :(

P S ** Is there a way for us to note when we actually joined NazNet originally? Then we can all somehow have this "history" as a part of our profile.

Unfortunately, there are certain names where this just can't be avoided. My friend Randy laments it on a pretty regular basis.

The word "this" in Shea's reply is a hyperlink to another thread. Hard to see.....

That's right. That's why I usually add "underlined" to a link.

I don't think a user can do it him/herself, but an administrator can change the date if you want. Just tried it myself and it works. Had to think long and hard when I joined but I'm pretty sure we got flatrate internet connection in March 1998 and I do remember joining NazNet as soon as I got it.

Personally I like the fresh start of having all the regulars showing the same join date. There's something refreshing about it. But that's probably just me. :)

It's refreshing enough for me that I lost 11.000 posts. Plus all those in Ceilidh that were deleted long before. :)
