Anyone having problems with Zone Alarm?

I've been using the free version of Zone Alarm for several years at the recommendation of some folks way back when on NazNet.

I updated a couple of weeks ago on my laptop (W2000) and I've had problems with the PC ever since. It takes forever to boot up and then gets very slow. Slow like in taking about a minute to move the cursur across the screen with the mouse.

I'm assuming ZA is the problem, as it is the only thing that has been changed lately.

Is anyone using something else?

I don't use Zone Alarm because I had trouble.

I've used zone alarm for years. The only time I ever had any troubles was when I tried zone alarm pro free for 30 days. Then my computer would crash and it would say "zapro not working". I went back to the free version and didn't have any more problems. In fairness I need to add that I was running Windows 98 then on a Gateway computer that gave me lots of problems so I can't really say that it was zone alarms fault.
