U2 in Church

I know. The other day a Dutch pastor did the same. Each year, I wonder if I'll dare to have the song "Until The End Of The World" played in church. So far, I think the contrast with Bach is just a little too much :basic03

So this year, I chose for Iona's version of "When I Survey", which is quite a different version already.

Still, I love the song:

Has anyone read the book of U2-related sermons entitled "Get Up Off Your Knees"? There's also a good website called u2sermons.blogspot.com that's pretty enjoyable.

While I don't agree completely with everything about U2, I do credit them for helping keep my faith vital and growing. I think they are incredible artists, right on the cutting edge and in excellent position to address both the culture and the church. I also believe Bono, at least, to be a sincere believer (don't know much about the others).
