I have never received a notice like this before . It was where they advise you of updates , lower right of desktop , but larger . It advised that there are so many scams with regard to the Japanese earthquake relief and to give only to known groups . There really must be a lot out there of a serious nature for them to post this . So please be wary . I almost wish I had clicked on the more info spot .

Seems anytime something happens that might draw widespread relief, scammers jump on it. Sad.

I wouldn't click on it at all.

We had McAfee for years. Last year we got a routine update window pop up saying we had to click on it to finish the install.

I DIDN'T notice a couple of misspellings and clicked on it.

It was a virus or worm or something. Could not get rid of it. Over the next week gradually all that would come up at any place--in office, notepad, on the web, excel, anywhere, was porn.

Wound up deciding a new puter was cheaper than the fix.

Never heard of McAfee before but the fact that many North Americans give so freely in time of disaster anc crisis needs while others try to take advantage of such disasterous events shows both the light and dark sides of the American/Canadian character.

Jim , McAfee is one of the two major anti virus protections people subscribe to .The other is Norton's . My first new computer came with a year of McAfee free and I have kept it up since then . My very first computer didn't have enough space for any protection and it did get a virus but so far with my protection I haven't had any problems with my first new one or this current one .
