Abba Daddy ...my Father which art in heaven blessed me soo yesterday.
Kris met me at my church for a really sweet worship communion service.
We were doubly blessed to have Jami Smith at home. She simply played
quiet worship songs with her guitar..no loud band backup..one i enjoyed
singing was "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" Kris has been
attending a church in Norman for almost a year..so he enjoyed saying
hello to famililar friends. Then we picnicked at Lake Hefner at a pretty place
in the shade by the lake. He will again be doing a mission journey to Beruit
this summer, so he talked about how evengelism looks in a Muslim country
where outreaches are not allowed. We compared the two mission journeys,
mine to Cambodia with Buddhist who are realitively open to the gospel
to Arab countrys where the word Christian carries a negative connotation.
After a walk around part of the lake we were ready for COOL air! and
headed for a bit of shopping at the Mall...Kris was blessed with three
new shirts. Then we took in a movie..a really good one..no sex..few
foul words and an extremely riviting suspenseful plot..with one
of my fav actors Denzel Washington.. after the movie..we had a
frappachino at Barnes and Noble and discussed the fast parts of the
movie that simply went too fast and over my head! and we browsed
thru the latest books.
Kris ended the evening meeting one of his childhood wrestling
friends for a late dinner.
We both made a reaquaintaince with Kacey a week ago at a Catholic
wake and funeral for a mutual friend.
I had dragged Kacey to Christian concerts when he was about
10-12 years old. Do any of you remember the Carmen Concerts for
the youth of America? Kacey has seen some rough times. He told me
that God had given up on him...looking into his eyes i told him
i had prayed for him many times over the years and God nor the
Hamilton's was going to give up on him!! So Kris is doing what
Kris does well, relationship evangelism.. is loving Kacey into the Kingdom
Oh BTW!! the priest that did the funeral was the Edmond parish
priest years ago. I would visit my girlfriend spontaneously on a Sat.
evening, and she would look at the clock and say "Judy I am going to Mass"
grab her little daughter and we all went to Mass. I so did enjoy
Father Leven's homily and lovely spirit. I prayed the nite before the funeral
for Father Leven..to be able to speak Jesus into the youth at Cindi's
Mass as her daughter is 15 and son 27
So there were about a thousand youth at the funeral in support
of these two.
Her daughter is a high school cheerleader and the entire cheer
team attended the funeral in their cheer outfits, from Memorial High School.
There was a dinner after the Mass. (Cindi would be buried in Colorado)
I approached Father Leven (who was seating eating) introduced
myself as his "token protestant follower" (he has lohg since retired)
I told him "I really prayed that last night for you, that the Lord would
use you today to speak Jesus into the hearts of the youth that I knew
would attend Cindi's funeral...and I felt the Holy Spirit used your
message. I then asked him if he found it strange for a protestant
to approach him and make such a comment. To which he replied
"Not at all strange..to have this comment coming from a Protestant
however I would have found it srange for a Catholic to talk
with me about praying over the message in regards to the Holy
Spirit ministering to the youth in the service today!"
thank you for sharing my day..week and be blessed one and
all on Resurrection Day
JESUS IS ALIVE!!!
