Did anyone take any pictures of the super moon last week?

I finally got a picture of the moon showing the craters. I used manual settings to get the light adjustment right.

It still isn't quite what I'm shooting for; I guess that means I'll have to keep shooting.

Wow, that looks great. Low light picture are the most difficult for me, I have never taken one yet that I like. I'm sitting here right now looking out my window at an incredibly brilliant inky black star filled sky, wishing that I could capture it.

Jim, I have a friend who has taken some amazing night sky shots. I'll have to ask him more about his camera and his settings. I'm just learning and don't have quite the zoom he seems to have. His looks like he has a camera on a telescope. They are incredible.

If you can capture, I'd love to see it. :)

I saw it and thought "I ought to take a picture of that spectacular moon" but in the end, didn't. If I had known it was a "super moon", I might have.

Isn't that the way it often is? I always think as I'm driving, "That is awesome! It would make a great picture." Then it's a mile behind me. I do carry a camera in my purse now. Sometimes I even stop for those shots. LOL

Or for me, driving in the city, I wish I either wasn't driving or else that I could hold up traffic so that I could take that gorgeous shot. I still often think about "the one that got away".

And do you think, "If I could stand on the back of that semi, I would have the perfect angle. Well, maybe a tripod on the back of the semi...."

Maybe that is just me. ;P

Funny! Hadn't had that thought yet, but it is something that I probably would have eventually :)

Well, I have been known to climb up on my car [don't think I would try it now; talking years ago!] to get a shot of something where a lower shot would have something in the way. ;)

I wasn't all that impressed with the "super moon" as it didn't look all that super here........but here's my feeble attempt........

Plus it was cloudy -- which it almost never is here in Tucson!!!

I love it. I like the layering textures more than I like the plain flat moon in my picture.

I hoped to get a photo of the Super Moon from the bottom of the Grand Canyon (no light polution), but it was cloudy. We didn't get a good view of the moon for either of the nights we were there.
