Were you able to feel compassion?

I've never had someone spit in my face or slap me but I can imagine that those are two of the most humiliating things that could be done to a person.

You can always tell which children have been slapped at home. Working with the kids at church, it's easy to spot one who sees the underside of a parent's hand on their face. When you go to pat them on the head or touch their cheek, they automatically flinch. It breaks your heart. The hand should be the symbol of love, not anger.

I'm not exactly sure of the circumstances you are speaking of but I know that as a caregiver, one would have to see beyond the action and look at the need.

last night was better...thanks to restraints!!!...those ugly straps
which i try everything possible to not use

however this man is strong..and i am weak..weaker than he

we spent the 12 hours talking about the veracity of purple ducks
flying across the ICU...and me trying to view the THREE "D" movie he
was enjoying on the wall of the ICU
(BTW neither of us were wearing "3 D" glasses!)

You asked if I was angry with my patient???

No..not at all..totally puzzled as he has no history of alchol and/or
recreational drug use...takes no home meds

Just flipped out...I am headed back now to work
and am hoping and praying he does not need restraints

and his body and heals and his mind is restored
this has really stressed his wife and his little mother...

Jesus you are the healer of all things broken
