Them dudes are good singers, Jim, but I bet Freddie King could beat any of 'em up (and I know he could drink them under the table:smilies1722:).

Wow! That was quick, we have a winner!
I shouldn't have been surprised. In my younger days, one had to memorize all four verses of at least 200 hymns in order to receive their white hanky!

Had to add this one, too. From a few years earlier, if the hairstyles didn't clue you in.

I did need to check out the video to be sure that Ann was in it. Some Gaither videos have Chuck Millhuff in them, a Nazarene evangelist who is probably not a licensed song evangelist but who has been known to sing on occasion and to write songs and to record albums some years ago. Also Buddy Liles, longtime bass singer of the Florida Boys, is in some Gaither videos. I think he might be Nazarene (I heard his daughter attended a Nazarene college) and he does have a website promoting his song evangelism ministry (don't know if he is licensed or not).
By the way, I think I had to memorize all four verses of 300-400 hymns as I was growing up. My pastor dad insisted that our song leaders not use just a selected few hymns from the current Nazarene hymnals.

Are these licensed Nazarene song evangelists? If so, do they wear wedding rings?

I looove Gov't Mule. I'm sad I've never seen them live (have seen Warren twice with the Allman's though).
Victor Wooten is intimidating. Every time I hear him, I want to put my bass in the closet cause I'll never be that good.

I've seen Warren probably six or seven times with Allman Brothers, 4 times at Beacon Theatre in New York City! Definitely some of the best shows ever. My dream is that one day I'll be at a Dave Matthews Band concert (I got to at least one a year) and Warren will come out and jam with them.

Fine bass playing! I kept expecting him to drop down to the lower range and play a riff there, but he stayed up in the top range. I don't think my bass would resonate up there no matter who was playing it.

What a coincidence. This last weekend was church work day and we were cleaning out some old stuff and found a Happy Goodman songbook. I'm not into Gospel music much, but I was around a few people who were. I said, "I remember we had a record album of them. We also had one of the Downings." No one knew who I was talking about with the Downings. All I could remember was the picture on the front of the album had the whole group and one was a beautiful girl with dark curls around her face. When I was little I thought she was beautiful. So yesterday I did some internet surfing to see if I was making this stuff up, or if there really was a group called The Downings. Sure enough, I found them on You Tube and saw an old clip of Ann Downing. And yes, she had those beautiful dark curls around her face. The group disbanded when I was 11 years old, so maybe that's why I never heard of them after that. I had no idea she was a Nazarene Song Evangelist! Now I have something else to share!
