Hate to be asking something again already, but just not sure what to think ... hoping someone didn't remotely get into and change my settings [& do who-knows-what-else].

You see, "forever" I've had it set up to where one has to use a password to get back into it if it's been hibernating at all (goes into that after awhile, screen black, etc ... then mousing brings it back up, and there's always been a place to then put a password before you can get into the programs at all).

Well ... now that's missing. You can just get in with mousing over it. yet, I go to "users" in control panel, and it says there's a password! So, what's going on? Maybe it's just something strange this thing's been doing, considering the other problems I've had. BUT, in case it's not, do I want to pay any bill on this thing ... that could jeopardize my account, no? Ugh!

Just realized that the last while, before the crash/recovery, we didn't have that DropBox turned on. Now we have had it on since then. Could it be possible that that's the doorway through which these things have been changed!? It is DL'ing things while only supposed to be uploading things into DropBox?
