Location: Kankakee River State Park
Published by the Kankakee Daily Journal, February 8, 2008
I took this picture in January, 2005. Earlier in the month it was much warmer and the Kankakee River was at flood levels bringing the water up over many of the low hanging branches along the river. Then it turned extremely cold - sub-zero for several days. When I went to the State Park that morning I discovered this scene among others. However, I did not send this picture to the Daily Journal until February, 2008.
BTW, (computer talk for “by the way”) while there, I slipped on snow-covered ice slabs, fell and broke three ribs.
Me, dizzy most of the time, walking on tilted snow-covered ice slabs?
DUH!
