I have just started reading this book which is a compliation of
credible authors (a different one for each chapter)

It has already answered questions I have been asking concerning the
Arabic culture and Islam and why they seem to allow the miliatnt
amongst them to control and place an ugly face on Isalm..
They do speak out of both sides of their mouth, however the reason
has it's genesis in an Islam called Salafiyya

I am just trying to understand the mindset of moms sending
their sons to their deaths..and those who think nothing of
presenting the heads of their own kind on a platter...

will explore more of this intriguing frightening culture as I am better
vesred to dialouge

Here is the web site synopsis

Analysis on terrorism, international security, and global economics from some of the world's leading experts

In the aftermath of the terrorist attack on September 11, one question has been on everyone's mind: "How did this happen?" This book seeks to answer this question in all its critical aspects--the motives and actions of the terrorists, the status of the U.S. military, the context of the Middle East, bioterrorism, airport security, diplomatic pressures--and to provide readers with perspective, information, and sound interpretation. The editors of Foreign Affairs have brought together noted experts whose insights make the events of that terrible day more understandable, even as we steel ourselves for the conflicts ahead.

James F. Hoge, Jr., is the editor of Foreign Affairs and was previously publisher of the New York Daily News and editor and publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times. Gideon Rose, the managing editor of Foreign Affairs, has served on the staff of the National Security Council and has taught at Princeton and Columbia universities.

Hello Judy Girl

I'll be looking forward to reading the book which appears to be very
interesting. I, too, have often asked myself how those Mothers could send
their sons off to be HOMICIDE bombers. Bad enough if they only went after
military targets rather than specifically targeting innocent civilians.
"Collateral damage" in war is truly horrible but a necessity sometimes and
I'm proud that we now try to minimize it. But targeting innocents is beyond
the pale!

I'll let you know when I get the book and after reading it, we'll have to
get together and talk about it.

Have a good week. See you at the next Gray Eagles.

Hugs, Octo
