my kids 11 and 14 were incredulous to find that I didn't know what the term to be "rickrolled" meant. Where have I been?????? For more info check the following link: http://tiny.cc/rct73

I have now.

I find it odd that 11 and 14 year olds know anything about a one hit wonder from the '80s, especially that one.

A 'rickroll' is a prank played on an unsuspecting web surfer. To be rickrolled is when browsing a website (especially a discussion forum or comment board), one comes across a link expecting it to lead to one thing, but finds something completely different when the link is clicked. http://www.squidoo.com/rickrolling (not a rickroll)

My kids don't know who rick astlely is but they have been rickrolled too many times to count...so they say.

Yep, I have been. A couple years ago, YouTube rickrolled everyone on April 1. Every video on their front page linked to the Rick Astley video.

I'm old enough to have watched it on MTV, before this whole internets thing. :)

I was 'RickRolled' from a different angle one time. I made up what I thought was a funny sounding, and totally fictitious, website, and posted it on NN. It turned out to be real - VERY REAL. In fact, it was very focused on one particular part of the the female anatomy. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, was left to the imagination. I've gotten to where I Google 'fictitious' sites now.

I've managed to avoid it thus far, but I'm a fan of the practice. The best rickroll to date (IMO) is when Mets fans voted to have "never gonna give you up" played on the jumbotron in place of a previous song (who let the mets out? maybe)... it didn't last long.

I don't think that counts as a "RickRoll." That's just unfortunate, that's all.

Not a RickRoll, but a rather hilarious memory, as I recall :D
