I just came across some NazNet information that reminded me that we just had our 10th birthday! NazNet was established on April 15, 1996.

So -- a late happy birthday NazNet!

Cool! Wish I could remember when I discovered it.

Ah... the memories. There have been a few rough spots along the way, some grand entrances and some noisy exits, but it sure has been a blessing.

This former Nazarene is glad that it is open to members and friends of the the Chruch of the Nazarene. Can't remember when I first came aboard. Picked up some kind of link from Dennis Bratcher's CRI site.

Have stated before that Naznet, in providing participants an opportunity to discuss (and sometimes disagree) , is providing a valuable service not only for the people called Nazarenes, but for the church world in general.

I spend a fair amount of time online (I know I should look around and see if I can find a good deal on a life) researching, for absolutely no practical purposes, things religious. I don't know of any other denominationally- oriented forum like it.

To Dave McClung, who pays the bills, and Scott and Hans (or Hans and Scott) who try to ride herd on all this, a great big thank you. Why, I think we ought to at least double their salary.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

I first found out about Naznet at Craig Whitlatch's funeral in 1999. I had only had a computer for a few months.

I came in May or June, 1996. The original welcome from the original moderator/owner was still on the board, along with the original responses, and not much else. It was pretty easy to read the half-dozen posts a day that appeared on the board. It was a traumatic moment when it grew to the point where I realized I couldn't read every post every day, anymore.

My best friends in the world, and some of the most powerfully impacting experiences of my life have developed out of NazNet.

I'm very grateful.

Love,
Brad
