We let our kids pick their own Halloween costumes, and it seems they get more obscure each year. Can anyone guess who they are supposed to be?

A few hints:
1. Sam has 2 heads and 3 arms (it's not obvious from the picture, but we did our best).
2. Vincent is wearing a bath robe and pajamas, carrying a towel and a book that says "Don't Panic" on the cover. His T-shirt says "I have Friends in London". You can't see the back of his robe in the picture, but it has the number 42 spelled out in duct tape.
3. Both costumes are part of the same theme.

Denny, who is that picture of? That's awful! I have pride in your looks since I gave birth to you! Please put your picture on it and not some scary person.

Where does Ruby fit into the "HHGG?"

The photo is of Johnny Rotten, a surprisingly underrated musician. Sorry you don't like it. I'll change it eventually.

Underrated? The promotor of the 2-chord rock, called "punk"? The leader of the Sex Pistols? Is it even theoretically possible to underrate him? :basic03

Anyway, without the Sex Pistols, there would be no Stiff Little Fingers, and without SLF, U2 would have a completely different sound. Just listen to the song Alternative Ulster. It's like the bridge between the Pistols and U2.

I thought U2 were influenced by the Ramones? But hey, I claim no extensive knowledge regarding their influences!

I had a friend in high school who wore a bathrobe to school each year on the day the world ends in 'HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy'. (Sept 14??)

He likes Arthur Dent's wardrobe and would probably wear a bathrobe to school every day if we let him. As it stands, we let him wear it on Halloween.

I laugh every time I see that picture. Let him be.
