is the tradition at NNU where at Commencement each May those who are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their graduation are invited back to take part in that year's commencement by marching in with the current graduating class and are honored. I started with the class of 1960 with classmates such as Dr. Al Jones, missionary to Kenya, Ethiopia, and Australia, Dr. Jerry Hull who has taught at Olivet, Trevecca and NNU, Artist Pat Nees, wife of Dr. Tom Nees, and others who have served the Kingdom so very well. Even though my Golden Grad year will be next Spring I was allowed to greet my classmates of those beginning years by participating in the morning Brunch, Alumni Chapel, campus tours, times of visiting, School of Nursing pinning ceremony and the evening banquet and all was very enjoyable to see some who I had not seen for all of the 50 years since. Tom Nees even gave three of us a lift in his car across campus from the Alumni House to the site of the Brunch at the Dining Hall and accepted a little direction from some old Geographer. To renew acquaintances from those formative years and share the good times, pranks ant honor those faculty members who meant so much to us was a most heart warming and blessed experience. On you, Crusaders!

It is always interesting to see how our lives unfolded from that graduation day. It has been 20 years for me and I am still kind of amazed that the guy who sat next to me in chapel [sleeping away or doing homework] is now a missionary and impacting his world for Christ.

I didn't graduate from a Nazarene University, but last weekend was my 50th Class Reunion from Bethel College, Mishawaka, IN. Our class led the graduating class at the commencement. We enjoyed many activities that weekend. This is a picture of two friends and myself in our caps and gowns. I am on the right.

When my aunt lived in Elkhart , she went to the Missionary church there and they talked a lot about that college in Mishawaka - Bethel. I think I was even there when they had a visiting group (s). Interesting you are an alumni , Vivian .

Interesting you are an alumni , Vivian . Marg, I grew up in the Missionary Church. When I got married and moved to Columbus, there were no Missionary Churches in this area. My husband was a Nazarene, so I have been a Nazarene for a long time.

The college has grown since my time there and the campus is a beautiful wooded campus with many beautiful new buildings. I had a great time visiting during my reunion. There were probably around 50 graduates in 1960. This year there were 573.

Had to click the "laughing" instead of the "thanks" button, Susan, b/c your "sleeping in chapel" reminded me of another missionary ... the one I caught stealing my laundry soap at Olivet when I left it in the laundry room while my clothes were in the washer! ;) Funny how things change, huh? [oh, you want to know who that was!?] ;)
