We both enjoy home grown tomatoes however keeping them up off the ground is
not an easy task until I heard about this idea from several people. My brother-in-law drills holes in 5 gallon pails and then sticks his tomato plants up there. I seriously considered doing that, however, decided, rather to plant mine in the bottom of an already existing/growing flower - a hanging basket.
I planted it this past Saturday and so far? So good. In fact, the plant is already leaning toward the sun - growing upwards. YIPPEE!
In August we SHOULD have fresh tomatoes just outside our back door.
